Proposed Employment Equity Amendment Bill, 2020

Important Notice: Disclaimer

The course is based on the Proposed EE Amendment Bill. It has not yet been gazetted and is therefore not legislation yet.

Parliament’s National Assembly has passed the Employment Equity Amendment Bill and has sent the draft law to the National Council of Provinces for concurrence, where any amendments will be considered.

Depending on whether any changes are made, it will be reconsidered by the National Assembly and then sent to President Cyril Ramaphosa to be signed into law.

The proposed amendment was postponed to September 2023.

Although we do not expect any major changes from the Proposed EE Amendment Bill to the final gazette, the course and its content are therefore subject to change before the final gazette and is a tool for planning.

Once the amendment Bill has been gazetted, all participants of this course will be updated free of charge.

We therefore specify and / or delimit the scope of rights and obligations that may be exercised and enforced by parties legally.

Throughout the course we included a “What to expect: Possible outcomes” section. These are discussions and information that we obtained through various stakeholders and does not necessarily form part of the Proposed EE Amendment Bill.
